Definitely we can stop. May be difficult in certain cases, almost like treating a drug addiction case! I had a patient who used to carry a comb inspite of being bald!The comb was his device for scratching. I cured him with homeopathy and strong repeated suggestions.

Good suggestion. But will they stop?  There is a funny saying in my native language Telugu.  If a person has sharp nails and has hot water, there is nothing like having an itching rash! He can see heaven while scratching!.  As the doctor suggested it should be avoided as the bleeding open wounds are gateway for infection.
