Creating Waves of Awareness

Unfortunately today there are different new trends in homeopathy – by different names and modes. The so called modern thinking homoeopaths are destroying this beautiful art and science of healing.

All of us are free to think differently but should be honest with ourselves and to our patients. It is important to do not any damage to our patients.

Now there is a tendency to give high potency daily (frequently). High potency from 1M – MM.

In our clinic we often see patients coming with a cancer after this type of therapy. Homoeopathic high potencies are not so benign, it may develop serious sickness if use in wrong way.

We must prescribe only the minimum and the adequate dose. We can’t force the vital force to cure; we can only stimulate to make a cure of the sick.

It is useless and harmful to give more than necessary.

According to Dr. Kent and our observation in the clinic a single dose of 200 – XM has the duration of 40 -60 days in chronic cases. CM has the duration of 2 -4 months. MM has the duration of one year.

We can use frequently the LM potencies according to the 6th edition of Organon.

The aggravation during the treatment is the over action of the un- useful large dose. The long and continues over action of remedies may produce damage the patients, especially with deep acting remedies.

The other problem is prescribing remedies by taking case partially and based only on mental symptoms. There are various beautiful names for this type of prescription. All of them are equally dangerous to the patients and to homoeopathic science itself.

A similimum exists only on the totality of symptoms. May be an expert of long experience can find the similimum only on mental symptoms in some cases.

We should be careful to don’t destroy the homoeopathic medical science just for fame or money. Nowadays it is a way of making fame and money by organizing seminars of this type of modern homoeopathy.

We should be honest with ourselves.

I agree with you Dr. Muttathukunnel. There are fields/methods which work just fine and do not sustain too many changes or negative proof, let's say in this case innovations. Besides, in my observance, the lower potency (C 3, 5, 9, 12, 15 30), the Schüssler products (D 6, 12) have faster and stronger healing effects than the higher potency, which effect develops weeks or months after the intake and in many cases nothing happens at all.

We need to inform each other on this "symptom".

PS: Many people/practitioners suffer from diseases that prevents them from clear thinking and they maybe don't even realize that.

Keep on blogging!

I agre with Dr. Muttathukunnel. It is not easy to handle high potencies. I learned that high potencies are sometimes used as single dose, and maybe repeated after several months.
I my view, 6C and 30 C work wonderfully in animals. Treatment must be substained while the patient requires it, and of course, mental signs (remember that symptoms are very hard to detect by a veterinarian) are very useful to determine what medicament is needed by the patient, but they are not the only part to take in acount. An ill patient is sufering physical problems also. Mental signs (and or symptoms) are associated with a physical state.

Dear friends,
thank you for the comments. I would like to clarify that I’m not against the high potency. Usually I use high potency from 200 – CM. It is very useful in almost all chronic cases if there is no organic lesions. LM potency is useful if there is an organic lesion.
The problem is the frequent use of high potency. Every dose has a duration. Daily and prolonged use of high potency is highly damages to the patient.

Posology in Homeopathy is a controversial subject even from the time of Hanneman. There are doctors who advocate high potency and frequent repetition there are others who feel that low potencies are preferable.Classical Homeopaths are of the opinion, that single dose is enough for the case, if the selection is correct.
As all of us know that there are certain definite guidelines for uasage of potencies.Still personal preferences do exist.
Apart from this, there is a section of scientists/Doctors belonging to other therapeutic sciences, who don't believe in Homeopathic potencies at all. They always challenge us to prove that Homeopathic high potencies ,are nothing but placebo. They ask us to prove scientifically that Homeopathic potencies do act.All of us who love Homeopathy, feel that this class of non Homeopaths are challenging us with out knowing the efficacy of the medicine with high potency. We even feel sad about such non believers. We criticize them.
But at the end of the day non of us, who are in favor or against usage of High Potencies, frequent repetition or low potencies and infrequent repetition of Homeopathic medicine, have a proper data to support our view point.
I highly appreciate Doctor Paul , who initiated this subject. This subject requires lot of clinical data to prove either side.

This story has a little connection to your discussion: Some months ago i was in the pharmacy where a man before me was asking for Arnica 1000 and didn´t really know how he should use it. He told to the pharmacist that he is just coming from a homeopath and he told him to buy Arnica C1000, but how to use it...he didn´t tell him (or the man forgot, he was in the elderly age)... What kind of homeopath or natural practitioner gave him instructions I don´t know...but it seems quite unresponsible. He should have at least write it down... The pharmacist (who was obviously the 1st days at his new work or a practicant) told him to take one week long 3 to 5 times a day few Globuli of Arnica C1000 ! probably thinking that potencies don´t make any difference ..The story had happy end, because an other pharmacist came and said it is better he call his homeopath again and ask him how exactly he should take the remedy and that C potencies are not for self medication.....so they didn´t sold him...I just can imagine what would happen to this man...and what he would think about homeopathy after!

I would like to note something to your wonderful comments and it's connected to the high potency. I agree that high potency should be controlled or by the Homeopaths or by the Pharmacists. On the other hand, today, those who want to undermine the Homeopathy simply started to spreading rumors that Homeopathy has side-effects and smartly used the chance and connected that to high potency (as well) of the Homeopathic remedies. One of the major homeopathic remedies producing company's sister company abroad (ops, this was complicated) simply wrote on its advertising sheets the well known advice from the user's manual of the Pharmaceutical companies' "medicines", which isn't true because Homeopathy has no side-effects. Those side-effects are serious illnesses evolved by their medicines.

Dear Tihana,
thank you for your story .
another story- A doctor prescribed Pulsatilla 1000 CH for a child. The mother of the child asked Pulsatilla 1000 CH in the nearby Pharmacy. The pharmacst gave her 5 vials of Pulsatilla 200 CH and told that to take a vial everyday.

Dear members

yet another One --
A lady end 20' came to me in great panic -- here is her story:
she went to see a homeopath locally, who prescribe Lachesis, -- it improved her symptoms somehow and the homeopath told her, that if it's working for her it is a good sign, because it would mean, that she must have some sort of throat cancer.
And now she believed that she has throat cancer -- it took some time to explain the matter to her, and there was no cancer --.

OK -- enough of stories.

The danger in new developments is not the development as such, it is rather that people belief it is homeopathy they are practicing when they are actually not.

For me the first step is to run any new method (development) against the rules and principles. If they pass the test, I will consider, otherwise i will dismiss. Either way I will pass on my findings here and elsewhere.

Posology, as Dr. Sushil Bahl commented is a controversial subject and very controversial. It is a must to keep the welfare of the patient. It is better to inform the patient that the remedies act for a long time depending on potencies and ask them to obtain permission tp repeat the dose only after telling about theirprogress or otherwise. Some do not believe in lower potencies at all. The Potency will also depend on sensitivity of the patient etc., hence the prescriber should be extra careful and educate the patient.
