Creating Waves of Awareness

Hi Friends,

Can anybody tell me the details of a homoeopathic remedy HYMOSA. The indication of the same drug is given in Beoricke's New manual of materia medica. It is indicated for rheumatic complaints and other inflammatory joint diseases and degenerative joint diseases. This medicine is usually prescribed as tincture.

What I want to know is the source of this remedy. Is it a plant remedy? When I searched in the google-images, i found that its a patent preparation. In India, only a few homeopathic pharmacies are preparing this remedy. When I asked a person working in a pharmacy, he said that it is a combination of several tinctures. But, I don't believe this since it is mentioned in Boericke's MM as a remedy.

Can anybody give some details?

Thank u doctors. Actually there are some patent products marketed as Hymosa. Since it is mentioned in Boericke and synthesis, i feel that it is a single medicine. In India, R S Bhargava pharmacy and Bhandari Laboratory are making the tinctures of Hymosa. But no information given in the pharmacy and pharmacopoeia books.

Dr.Rafeeque ,
Hymosa is available as a mixture or combination of various Homeopathic drugs and is sold as a medicines for Rheumatism. However the only brief information I was able to collect was from a book by SL Kumar on Rheumatic diseases [B Jain Publishers, N. Delhi] It mentions Hymosa as a medicine (single drug) for Rheumatism as well as sciatica etc. The details mentioned are as under. These may not be very authentic and need further clinical verifications and provings.
Indications
a) Rheumatic fever: It prevents heart diseases which usually follow attacks of rheumatic fever when the case is not managed properly.
b) Acute and chronic rheumatism.
c) Non - articular rheumatism.
d) Lumbago-sciatica syndrome. In sciatica its actions is marvelloous. In lumbago it rapidly cures pains in the back and waist.
e) Gout- a specific. It should be used by persons subject to diathesis.
Administration
1. In acute cases with high fever and severe pain, in neuralgias, a teaspoonful of mother tinture with about 30 ml of hot water every 2 hours. Each dose should be followed by a copious draught of hot water or soda water; when symptoms are less severe the doses should be given less frequently.
2. In chronic cases, a teaspoonful of mother tincture a dose on rising , at bed time once or twice during the day.
3. Inchildren, the dose should be reduced propotionately.
4. For getting good sleep at night give doses of Passiflora.
5. In case of swelling and pain, while Hymosa tincture is being taken internally, Hymosa ointment should be applied externally on the affected part.

how can this be classified under single medicine?is things going on in wrong ways.this is ridiculous.HYmosa is apatent as far as i know and making it single medicine and presenting is absolutely wrong and unethical.raise this objection to author and b jain,

There are some patents marketed as Hymosa (manufactured by Father muller's lab). But the Hymosa mentioned in Boericke, synthesis, and S L Kumar's rheumatic diseases is a single medicine. But, unfortunately, no data is available on this plant in the pharmacopoeia and pharmacy books.
