Stephen R. Blake, DVM, CVA, CVH.  

Dr. Blake graduated from the University of Arizona 1969 with a BS in animal science. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1973 where he received his DVM. He has practiced small medicine for the past 38+ years in San Diego, California. The past 30 years he has specialized in alternative veterinary medicine, utilizing Classical Homeopathy, nutrition, glandular therapy, massage, Aromatherapy, Acupuncture, Gemmotherapy, Oligotherapy, Bach Flowers and Japanese Usui Reiki.

Dr. Blake graduated from Dr. Richard Pitcairn's first Veterinary certification course in 1993. He had been utilizing homeopathy in his practice for 13 years prior to taking the course. Certified in classical homeopathy by the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy in 1993 and in acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1990. He finished his Japanese Usui Mastership program in Reiki in September of 2012. He now has a limited consultation practice in San Diego, Ca.

Dr. Blake is a founding member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and was honored with being Holistic Practitioner for the year 2011 by the AHVMA membership. He has been a lecturer at the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association national conventions for the past 20 years. He has given many lectures on Homeopathy, Aromatherapy, Bach Flowers, Gemmotherapy, Aromatherapy, Nutrition and Bovine Colostrum. He also hosts a monthly Internet health newsletter, The Pet Whisperer tm, for animals and people, which is read by thousands of pet owners and veterinarians around the world. He hosts the WWW.ThePetWhisperer.com web site which is read by 100's of people each day on how to care for their animal friends and themselves in a natural, chemical free way.

Dr. Blake has been published in many periodicals such as the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Journal, The Whole Dog Journal, The Whole Horse Journal, Animal Wellness Magazine and many others. He has a chapter in the Complimentary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine Principles and Practice on Bach Flowers in Veterinary medicine, and has authored and illustrating his book, The Pet Whisperer, which is available through The Pet Whisperer Publishing
 

Dr. Blake has been on television and radio talk shows spreading the word about alternative veterinary medicine for many years. He is on many Internet lists sharing his knowledge with those who want to learn more about alternative medicine for their pets and their families alike.

He is a consultant for Boiron, Imutek (the colostrum people of Colorado ) and EliteScience in San Diego. His hobbies are guitar, Native American Flute playing, writing poetry, writing books and articles, traveling around the world, rock climbing, hang gliding, mountain bike riding, teaching, taking care of his five grandchildren, hiking, art, painting, drawing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sharing time with nature and all creatures great and small.

He speaks English, Spanish and is learning Japanese at this time. He loves all beings of this universe and believes our world can be transformed with love.
