Dr Widder, Ph.D. neurobiology, found bioluminescence through a serendipitous journey in her study of underwater ocean life. After her submersible dive and the discovery of this unknown world of living organisms she realized both the potential for integrating the potential of bioluminescence and the loss of an entire sea bottom community through unsustainable fishing techniques.

When shrimping boats drag the ocean bottom they destroy organisms that may have been living and growing for thousands of years in one fell swoop.

The secrets of bioluminescence can only be uncovered by preserving our environment and respectful of other living organisms. As an example of how these chemicals can be used to light up our world includes power-efficient lighting for our homes, buildings and cars.

  • Phillips Microbial Home (MH), a Dutch company, has created a green lighting system using bioluminescent bacteria that utilizes home waste, showing the potential for an unlimited energy source.

  • Bioluminescence of algae as shown in video on red tide in Cardiff, California ocean waves. There were no color enhancements made to this video. In real life, the color is a bit more green. Filmed by Franz Krachtus, Sept. 2011

  • New Scientist | Lighting up city streets with bioluminescent trees that have genetic information implanted. A Cambridge University student team, wwho participated in the annual International Genetically Engineered Machines competition (iGEM), modified genetic material from fireflies and the luminescent marine bacterium Vibrio fischeri to boost the production and activity of light-yielding enzymes. Through modifications in the genetic code or "BioBricks" of these trees created results.

  • The inner allure and light within gold. | A team headed by Yen Hsun Su of the Research Center for Applied Sciences at the Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan, dipped Bacopa caroliniana, a plant often used in aquaria, into a solution of gold nanoparticles. The gold diffused into the plant's cells after a day or so. When the plant was exposed to ultraviolet light, it excited electrons in the gold, causing them to emit a violet-blue light. That light in turn made the plant's chlorophyll fluoresce red. The nanoparticles remained in the leaves for between two weeks and two months.

It was fascinating to read about bioluminescent, and enjoy the video. I also found the following very interesting with regards to corals in sea of Bali.Science has helped to invigorate the dying corals due various reason, one being high water temperature of the seas.See how one scientist helped to revive the corals a very essential part of sea life.

Hello Dr Wequar ~ What creativity can do to drive coral reefs to survive global warming and increasing temperature through the use of low voltage electricity. Thanks for sharing this news that the coral reef life will be more resistant to the change in temperature and has grown at a more rapid pace than ever before.

what happened with the nanoparticles after that period, do they know exactly what and how happened?

Vik ~ These innovative uses of bioluminescence are in research stages of development. After discovering the properties it will take years to find advantages, uses and how to apply this knowledge.

This is interesting news.  I can see the connection with eco-awareness and waves of awareness -  but I cannot see the  connection with Homeopathy.
